    Exclamation Unanswered: Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e07'

    I am getting this error when I try to update my access database here is the line of code the error is referring to:

    Conn.execute("Update auto Set [Job_Title]='" & Jobtitle & "',[Status]='" & status & "',[City]='" & city & "',[Prov]='" & prov & "',[Country]='" & country & "',[Desc]='" & desc & "',[Requirements]='" & requirements & "',[Comp]='" & comp & "',[Process]='" & process & "',[Job_Class]='" & jobclass & "',[Rel_Assist]='" & reloc & "',[Start_Date]='" & stdate & "',[Website_Status]='" & webstatus & "' Where id = "& Request.Querystring("id"))

    this is supposed to be "data-type error in criteria expression" message

    what is id ?
    assuming it is numeric as your query concatenation suggests...

    ?? what are you trying to achieve with:
    Where id = "& Request.Querystring("id"))

    id refers to the record to update.

    Let's see ... Dates as literals have to be surrounded by # signs. Hmmm ... You cannot use Execute if there are embedded quotes within string literals ... And as Izy pointed out, you can't treat numeric data as strings ...
    Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...

    ok, my start_date field is just a text field in the database and not a date/time field.
