    Unhappy Unanswered: sqlserver db2 connection

    I have a project to do. It is a web application. Web client will connect to sqlserver and sqlserver connect to db2 (AS400). But i don't know how can i connect 2 database. If you have any solution pls contact me.

    db2 version 5.1

    You need to create a linked server to your AS/400 DB2.

    Make sure you have a DSN setup for the DB2. You can confirm it is working by linking a table thourhg MS Access or something to that effect.

    Create the linked server, specify OLE DB Provider for ODBC.

    Next for the Data Source enter the name of the DSN.

    For Catalog enter the name of the library you are going to be hitting.

    In the security tab enter a record for your local login mapping to the DB2 login

    In Server Options tab just check Collation Copatible and Use Remote Collation.

    You should be able to connect at that point.
