Hi

I have been trying to add an event to backup the database to a database and when I select the apply button I get the following error message:

ASA Error -131: Syntax error near 'Backup' on line 1.

I have made a copy of the same database and been able to add the event successfully, and the event (running the backup) has executed properly.

I have cut and pasted the event from the working database into the original database - same error message.

When I delete all the code except for the BEGIN and END, I still get an error message referencing the "Backup" on line 1 (which has been deleted.

I have deleted the event and re-entered (with and without cutting and pasting) and I still get the same error.

If anyone has any ideas about this I would be most grateful.

Below is the code I am trying to execute.

BEGIN
BACKUP DATABASE
DIRECTORY 'C:\DB\BACKUP\'
TRANSACTION LOG TRUNCATE
END

I look to your learned selves for assistance with the query!
