    Wink Unanswered: searching within a field

    Hi there, long time no post!

    I would like to be able to search a memo field for a string of characters and do not know the proper syntax. I have tried wildcards to no avail.

    Here is what I have tried to use to search the memo field:

    OR (([Programmed Adj].[provno12])= "*" & ([forms].[PCR main].[by_provno]))& "*";

    Here is an example memo field:

    "Provider 312 needs to have amendment modified"

    Basically I would like to know how to select that record if 312 is found in the memo...

    Thanks a whooooole lot!

    For one thing, you need to replace the = with the LIKE operator...

    Since memo fields are searchable, Bbender27's suggestion should do the trick.
