Unanswered: How to make simple exe file

    Hi,
I was playing with installation wizzard and I need a simple exe file.

The exe file would simple run an an excel or access file?

I know how to do it in .NET but i wouldn't like that install every user the framework...

    I tried with batch file.

    simply i wrote

    application.xls EXIT

but it doesn't ALLWAYS work ... and the DOS screen stays open...

This got to be simple, right?

Well this isn't an EXE or BAT file but in Windows Explorer you could right-click on an Excel or Access file and then do Create Shortcut and then drag that shortcut to the user's desktop. Then when the user clicks on the desktop shortcut the Excel or Access file is automatically opened up.

    installation wizzard

The installation wizzard needs some executable file in order to make the script. The setup procedure then do common work, ask for the directory, creates desktop icon and show the licences...

real cute stuff. Inno Setup Compiler ...it's a freeware...you can download from download.com ...

In the old days, there was a program called BAT2EXE. You can probably find it somewhere and just make a batch file and convert it to an executable.

If you have the developer version, you can make a exe or exe-like for access you can include like .NET in there for example and it only loads at run-time
