    Unanswered: Check Constraint

I am having a problem loading data into a table...

The log file states that the error:

    ORA-02290 check constraint (name) violated.

When I use Enterprise Manager to view the contraint information, the Check Condition is:

(FieldA IS NULL and FieldB IS NULL) OR

It's checking to ensure that both FieldA and FieldB are NULL (not sure why that is) but it seems that something is missing... OR what?

    Thanks in advance

    John

I suspect that Enterprise Manager is simply truncating the text after a certain point. In SQL Plus I would use SET LONG 10000 to ensure it is all shown; maybe a similar command works in EM?

    Check constraint

Loading data is very simple job. Instead of using EM, you simple use ASCII file throug SQL+ to load data. In this way, you can solve your problem.

I was using a script to load the data but then it stopped with the constraint error... so then I used EM to see what the constraint was (I should learn to use SQLPlus to do this).

    Thanks again for your help.
