Unanswered: how to select the poor indexes?

I have a dba with more than 500 tables and I want to drop the indexes on the least selective columns. How do I know which are the poor indexes?
    Please help.........thanks

My guess is that you'll get the same answers here that you got from Brett Kaiser on SQL Team.

Who wants you to remove indicies and why? What are they hoping to gain by removing them?

From a technical perspective, what criteria are you using to determine the selectivity? Absolute selectivity is easy to measure, but not very good at predicting performance. Domain selectivity is more application focused, and is a good predictor. Profile selectivity is more practical, and will show exactly how the indicies affect past queries. All three answers to which index is more selective can be quite different, depending on the circumstances.
