Question Unanswered: DB2 binaries local - DBs on SAN drive

Pardon my post if it comes across too elementary. I am quite the newbie to DB2....

I have DB2 7.2 fp10a installed on my Windows C:\, but would like to create a couple of databases on a SAN partition that is mounted on my machine via Snapdrive. Is it as simple as "db2 create db <name> on <SAN>...", even when there is no DB2 anything located on the SAN?

If you can point me in the right direction, I'll run with it. I apologize again if this question has previously been answered. Thank you for your help in advance.

Normally DB2 recommends that you create the database on a local drive and you can then put containers accross remote drives. The reason for this is the amount of I/O that is written to the database directory could be very high and if you have it going over a network, it could cause a problem.
