Unanswered: Cloning DB with Temp Tablespace

    Hi,

I'm planning on cloning a db that has a temp tablespace.

I usually use the "alter controlfile backup to trace" command so I can recreate the control files.

What do I do with the temporary tablespace? Do I have to recreate it from scratch in the new db? Do I copy the temp tablespace datafile from the original db to the new db?

    TIA

    Charlotte

If they are really temp (and not just called temp!) the create statement will be in the alter controlfile to trace output - just re-create it (its only temporary after all)

    Thumbs up

Yes, it is a real temp file.

Thanks for this. I thought I'd just be able to create it again via the last command at the end of the trace file but just wanted to make sure.

    Thanks for your help
