Unhappy Unanswered: RMAN Gurus please help

I have a full database + the archive log backup of an oracle database "A" taken on "Host A". I would like to restore it to "Host B" as database "B" with different directory structure.

I also have the rman backed up controlfile.

    Could anyone please help?

I tried copying the rman controlfile backup to "Host B" and then tried to restore it under "Database B". But when I tried to mount the database, then it's giving me the error " database is still named A"..

if you can do a sql*net connection between host A and host B, you can use DUPLICATE DATABSE.
otherwise (using version 9iR2) you have to recover database A on host B and have to use the binary nid to change the DB-ID

    for DUPLICATE DATABASE see
http://download-west.oracle.com/docs...ta27.htm#81553 for the syntax definition and
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs...nc2.htm#462471 for a conceptual overfiew.
to rename the datafiles see the first example, just check the SET NEWNAME clause.
    For the NID utility see
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs.../ch14.htm#1656
(a free registration at otn.oracle.com is required for all these links)
