    Talking Unanswered: RMAN sucks

I have taken a full database backup for a database "A" on Host "A" using the RMAN nocatalog method. Now I would like to restore this full database backup for database "A" taken on host "A" to host "B" as database "B". Both the hosts have different directory structure. Is there a way to achive this in RMAN? Also, I'm not talking about RMAN duplicates, since I would be getting the full database backup for the DB "A" from tape.

    yes you can.
do you have a RMAN book?

it's the same as taking a cold backup, moving all the copies to host 'B'
then telling oracle what all the new paths are for each datafile.

with RMAN you just recover each datafile to a new directory on host B

You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
