    Unanswered: Adding New Record

    Right at the moment i am adding new records with openform gotorecord, new
    It doesnt seem to open the record at a new one very quickly.

    You get a glimpse of the first record first. As this is a HR program i am writing then it has to be pretty secure and this at the moment isnt very secure

    Can anyone advise of how to open a new record quicker?

    can you open the form in only add mode to not allow the user to view any existing records. Or my other thought is to load the form hidden till you navigate to the new record and then show it.

    Hide the form how? I tried to use a loop but that just never seemed to do anything?

    I tried

    Form.visible = false
    Do until form.newrecord = true
    docmd.gotorecord,acnew
    loop
    form.visible = true

    what is the purpose of the loop? I tried this on one of my forms in the load event:

    form load yadayada
    me.visible = false
    docmd.gotorecord acdataform, me.name, acnewrec
    me.visible = true
    end sub

    Sorry if this doesn't help

    No, i took your first comment and adapted that!
    I have a double click event to open up the relevant from a list before so i just made it a data entry form and just opened the form instead and didnt need to add a goto record function.

    Thanks!

    If i have trouble though i will use the code you have provided
