if it is read-only by operating system, you can right click on the database choose properties then unselect the read-only option.

hey, you probly got this off another person or system, or copied it across from a disc, anyways, open a new access file, a blank one, then go to file import from... select your "read only" file and import everything across, tables, queries, macros everything.. now you should have a lovely database that aint read only! (i think hehe) unless the dood above is cortrect ofcourse.
