    Unanswered: Making fields required dynamically

I wish to ensure that certain fields in a form I am creating are non-blank. I wish for this to be checked only at the end of the operation -- both on adding a new record and on editing an existing record. Where would I put such code? Thank you.

If you are using a standard (or wizard created) form for input/edit of data, as soon as you enter one field of data you commit the record. To verify all data is commited you must control the way users navigate the form. You would need to remove the navigation buttons and min/max/exit buttons which both are properties of the form. You may also need to make it a modal form (and pop up) and put in buttons for navigations. Oh yea, scroll bars may enable a mouse's scroll button to navigate the records, so you may need to remove scroll bars. In the navigation button's _OnClick routine is where you would put your code.

Thank you both. "Before Update" indeed seems to be what I'm looking for.
