    Smile Unanswered: import data to oracle server

    Hi ,

    I am trying to import to oracle 9i database on windows 2000 advanced server setup at home.i am getting following error when i try to run below command in command prompt

    imp findba/findba file= D:\treasury\aeat1u_dump_29Jul.dmp log=D:\treasury\findba.log fromuser=ops$utcaebg1 touser=findba full=Y buffer=10000 grants=N ignore=Y

    IMP-00058: ORACLE error 12560 encountered
    ORA-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    IMP-00000: Import terminated unsuccessfully

    imp findba/findba@SID file= D:\treasury\aeat1u_dump_29Jul.dmp log=D:\treasury\findba.log fromuser=ops$utcaebg1 touser=findba full=Y buffer=10000 grants=N ignore=Y

    and I would go for a larger buffer size 4000000

    this is a sql-net error.

    Either the database is not up and running or you do not have the listener.ora
    and tnsnames.ora files configured properly

    Are you connecting to a local DB, the command that you have supplied looks like it, but the error is a TNS error which is confusing.

    Configure your net administrator

    Hi,
    Use net administrator and configure your connection method to local naming service and check the tnslistener config file.Further you may use only FROMUSER & TOUSER mode or FULL mode.

    true, FULL equals you want all the objects from the export file loaded.
    FROMUSER equals a specified list of schemas and their objects you wish to load.
