I wanted to start a thread with regards to java databases and their 'real' potential.
IMHO, java databases are the way to go, when one talks about embedded databases. (Just look at the recent IBM / Cloudscape movement .... you've got to love Big Blue for the way they have ruffled some feathers!)
However, what does the community think about java databases? Who are the decision makers who will champion this cause? (Will making all java databases open source help? Me thinks not!)
The bottom line is this: 'If we evangelise the 'Java' cause enough, there is no way that java embedded databases will NOT rule the roost in times to come.' My question is this:'Who will and How will we evangelise the 'Java' cause????'
