Unanswered: understanding information returned from @@version return...

I know it sounds like an obvious question, but I need to know what each constituent part of the text returned is. For example, following is the text string returned from executing 'SELECT @@VERSION' against both a Sybase 11 and Sybase 12 server respectively:

    Adaptive Server Enterprise/11.9.2/1031/P/NT (IX86)/OS 3.51,4.0/FBU/Fri Aug 14 01:42:41 1998

    Adaptive Server Enterprise/12.5.1/EBF 11428/P/NT (IX86)/OS 4.0/ase1251/1823/32-bit/OPT/Wed Sep 17 11:10:54 2003

I can guess most of it but I don't know what the following represent:

    from the Sybase 11 string:

    /OS 3.51,40

    from the Sybase 12 string:

    /EBF 11428

Perhaps there is a nicer/cleaner way to retrieve all this information from the Sybase master tables?

    thanks in advance

/EBF 11428 is the EBF or SW that is installed. In this case the EBF 11428 is installed.

/ase1251 is the currently running version. Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.1.
I'm not crazy, I'm an aeroplane!
