Red face Unanswered: Grant permissions - internet users

    Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and to mysql. I'm having trouble with grant permissions. I want interent users to be able to select, and delete their own records. The code I entered not only returns a syntax error, but it also changes the way I entered it.

    ************************************************** *
Here is how I entered it:
    ************************************************** *****
GRANT SELECT , DELETE ON pets.members TO "username"@"host"

    INDENTIFIED BY "password" ;

    ************************************************** **
This is the mysql error message and notice. See how it changed INDENTIFIED BY to lowercase and ran it into the username@host? Plus it removed the semicolon, is it suppose to do that?
    ************************************************** ******
Database pets - Table members running on localhost
    Error

    SQL-query :

    GRANT SELECT ,
DELETE ON national_pets.members TO "username"@"host"indentified BY "password"

    MySQL said:

You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'INDENTIFIED BY "password"' at line 1

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks Pesty

    Thanks Pesty
    Try "IDENTIFIED" instead of "INDENTIFIED"

    I feel so sheepish!

Thanks for pointing out the typo error.
