    Unanswered: create a dbspace

    Hi
I am tring to create a new dbspace on windows env.
I installed informix 9.4 and can use dbaccess.

I wanted to create a new dbspace so I can create my database in this dbspace.

I tried to create a dbspace in E:\informixdata\ called test01.'
    This is how I proceeded:

    onspaces -c -d test01 -p E:\informixdata\ -o 512 -s 102400

    this returned the following error:

Verifying physical disk space, please wait ...
    Error opening file \\.\E:\informixdata.

Is there anything I got to do before doing this and is there anything that I miss or wrong.

    Thanks and regards

    micky

I have'nt worked on the IDS on windows, but it looks like the file is being expected as against the directory location you've provided.

    onspaces -c -d test01 -p E:\informixdata\<FILE NAME> -o 512 -s 102400

    Hope it helps.

go to the directory where you want to create the dbspace and do
    touch "name of the chunk"

then do the oncpaces command pointing to that chunk name

    Cheers
