    Question Unanswered: A second compress?

I know about the compact and repair utility, but for XP you can compact files if you are using NTFS. Is this compact good or bad for the ol' DB?

I would be careful to use this feature of XP. It may affect Access. MS itself is not very forthcoming with the necessary info, but does mention that it affects Access files. The best way to maintain the drive and optimize Access database is to first defragment the drive (I prefer Symantec/Norton which is superior to the one provided by MS) and then compact and repair the database.
