    Unanswered: Ingres database connection problem

I am getting the following error while executing an application that uses Ingres database.

    GCA protocol service (GCA_REQUEST) failure.
Internal service status E_GC0132 -- User provided a vnode as part of the
database name (vnode::dbname), but connection information for that vnode
is missing. Enter connection information for the vnode using NETUTIL.. (E_LC0001)
As it is a compiled binary application, i am unable to study the code.
What might be the reason for this error? Is it with the environment?

Anybody please help me in this regard.

It is most likely your environment. Run the netutil program. Make sure that there is a vnode for the server/database you are trying to connect to. You might have to create one. There may also be a universal one there, but you might have to create an entry for your username and password.

What operating system are you using? Are you providing the database name to the program (like via a command line parameter)?
