    Unanswered: timing of a query

    Hi,

    Is there a setting where we can see the timing the query takes to run,as in oracle we can "set timing on".As such is there anyway we can see the timing it takes to run the query.

    Thanks

    timing of a query

    Hi,
    You can use the OS "time" command to know the time required to execute a query. eg

    time dbaccess DBNAME <<eof
    select * from test;
    eof

    Bye.

    Hi,

    select current as start_time from systables where tabid=1
    into temp x with no log;
    select current - start_time from systables,x where tabid=1;
