    Unanswered: Insert Problem

I'm inserting records into a table by putting together a slew of values and then using an INSERT INTO statement. I've run into a snag though trying to import a field from a recordset. The snag I ran into was when that field [Merchant Name] contains an ' my code borks out with a missing operator error. The field is a text field so I'm assuming Access is confused about how to handle the expression INSERT .... ", '" & rec("Merchant Name") & "', " when it finds an extra ' in the field value. I'm planning on stripping that value from the data I need to import to solve the problem, but I'm wondering if that is the right way to handle this problem and if there are other characters that could conceivably cause a similar problem. And finally is there a way to strip out that character from that field in SQL. TIA

What I've found works best is to use a recordset to "poke" across the data (when dealing with text) ...
Back to Access ... ADO is not the way to go for speed ...
