Unhappy Unanswered: SQLUTIL error 88 leaves ^^^ files

    Pervasive 2000i.
We run backups every 2 hours using SQLUTIL startbu DATASOURCE and SQLUTIL endbu DATASOURCE. During the end bu include process we have seen an error 88 and it fails out. This has resulted in there being several top hat ^^^ files remaining. The backup mode is off and it appears that the .dat files are now being updated as opposed to the ^^^ files. I don't want to delete these as I'm certain that the system updating these files was in use for a number of hours before the endbu errror was noticed.

What do I need to do the recover from this error. I have stopped any further backups until this is sorted.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

Open the file with the Btrieve Function Executor and leave it open until the ^^^ files are rolled in. Depending on how active the file is and how big the ^^^ file is, it may take a while.
Just out of curiosity, why are you backing up every two hours?

    Backup frequency

Thanks Mirtheil I'll try this. We use the SQLUTIL utility to backup our data to a warm standby server. We have run like this for three years now. Do you think that this will cause us problems?
