    Unanswered: Installing an Access database

    Hello,

let's suggest I have a complete Access Database, which I distribute on a CD-ROM to different users.
Is it possible that when opening Access from the CD-ROM, the program searches for the hard disc on the computer, creates his own file and path and copies everything from the cd-rom to this file. During this proccess we like to keep the user informed of what is happening... + give him a result and instructions to open and work on the database, stored in the new created file.

    Is this possible in VBA?

    MANY THANKS,

    TROMBONE

Yes, you can do that using the VBA

You can let the user to choose his folder to install (in this condition copy the .mdb file).

That I would suspect... but the question was rather to have an example of the code in question... my skills writing these things are likely to be called "BEGINNER"...

That is just a guide for you to let the user choose a folder, in which your DB will be copied.
