    Unanswered: resolve misconfiguration

    if I misconfigure the server for example says:

    sp_config ' default lock', 30000000000000

    and the server hang how can I resolve it ?

    Stop the server, change the value for 'default lock' in the configuration file (.cfg), save it and try to start your server again.

    where the cfg file located? what is its name? sorry I am newbie in sybase.

    On the server you installed ASE on, go to the sybase-installation directory (e.g. C:\Sybase\ )
    You'll find a .cfg-file named something like <ASE-servername>.cfg.
    Make a copy of the cfg-file for safekeeping, in case anything doesn't work out well.
    Open it in notepad or anything like that and proceed with the directions I gave you in the first post.

    Perhaps you can give some more info like what operating system you use, and what ASE-version (if it is ASE, or ASA).
