Unanswered: Use MS Access to Link tables from Oracle without having an Oracle Client

Is there a way to connect to an Oracle database using MS Access without actually installing an Oracle client? I think the Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver (MSORCL32) needs SQL*NET , which is part of Oracle Client to configure the DSN settings.

Im trying to find a configuration similar to TSNNAMES.ora of Oracle but i could not find it.

    Replies are appreciated. thanks

A traditional ODBC driver always need SQL*net = must install Oracle client. But I think Merant developed a driver of some kind that allows you to skip the SQL*net part. Merants drivers is to my knowledge "state of the art" drivers they are at least much better than MS's drivers. Btw Merant has changed name to DataDirect read more here.
