    Unanswered: srvbuild error: libstdc++

    Hi,
    I got this error message during the srvbuild process. Here's an excerpt from the $SYBASE_ASE/init/logs/srvbuildx.xxx file:

    /syb125/db/ASE-12_5/bin/dataserver: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory.

    I have libstdc++3.3.3-41 installed on my SUSE 9.1 Pro. and it uses a libstdc++5.x instead of the libc6.x version. To cut the story short, is there a Sybase patch available for this ASE 12.5.x (Dev. Ed.) or do I have to grab a newer version of libstdc++ from somewhere.

    PS: If anyone knows of any sites where I can find libstdc++ rpms, that would be great

    Thanks in Advance,

    Cy

    Fixed it:
    Apparently, the libstdc++ library Sybase required came from the compat_libstdc++ package (rpm). After I installed compat-libstdc++, srvbuild got further along the process. I ran into a start server issue that was fixed by increasing the /proc/sys/kernel/shmmax settings. I must've forgot that one before the install
