Unanswered: for help:why can't I use proc command from oracle client for solaris 9???

    hi all:
I had installed the oracle8i client for solaris in my SUN FIRE480 machine, I wrote a test.pc progarm and wanted to precompile it, I input the "proc iname=test.pc" command, the OS hint me that "proc:not found", I search my file system and could not find the proc program. I read the oracle document and the document said the proc program site at $ORACLE_HOME/bin, I entered my /opt/oracle/product/8.1.7/bin directory and could not find it. How can I get the proc program?
    Best Regard.

    incorrectly install oracle client

during install oracle8i client, don't select "administrator" option installation, choose "custom" installation, and select all item, after installed, you would found the "proc" precompiler program at you $ORACLE_HOME/bin directory.
