    Unanswered: re-create database

    Hi

How can I re-create a database? After I droped a database (that is deleted the files recognized with it) I can't seem to create anotherone with the same name... the sid somehow is still left i my computer. How can I change that?

Or is there away of reseting a database so only the schemas and such that were there with the creation are there? I tried to drop a user but the size of the database is still the same...

    any solution?

    thanks!

Here is a free clue, the database does not change size when data is deleted.
I suggest you stop poking at Oracle, and take a few days to RTFM

thanks for the (very kind, by the way) answers... a follow up though... If the database size doesn't decrease on deletion of data... does it imidiatley increase when new data is put in it or doesn't it? (obviously it grows if more data is put in than what was deleted... i mean up til that time...)

By the way... I am in the middle or so in the manual... so I am willing to be led to wisdom...
