    Unanswered: Checkpoint not complete

    Hi,

    I just found out in my alert log this message:

    "Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 22283
    Current log#2 seq# 22283 mem#0: /usr/oracle/oradata/orcl/redo02.log
    Thread 1 cannot allocate new log, sequence 22284
    Checkpoint not complete
    Current log#2 seq# 22283 mem#0: /usr/oracle/oradata/orcl/redo02.log
    Thread 1 advanced to log sequence 22284"

    I use to monitor this alert log daily, and there is any error messages. Now I'm worried this one apperead yesterday ("checkpoint not complete").
    Should I need to take any precaution? What does this messagen mean?
    Nadia

    On occasions you will see that a log could not be archived, but will archive a short time later ... Look futher down in the alertlog ...

    Also, ensure that you have the DISK space on the ARCHIVELOG disk to accomodate the checkpoint space requirements...

    What does v$log and v$logfile look like ???

    SQL> select group#,members, status from v$log;
    SQL> select group#, status from v$logfile;
