    Unanswered: limit on filesize

Is there any limit while you specify file for tablespace or backups ?
It looks like even if there is plenty of space on file system it screams after using say abt. 2GB ( I checked ulimit alos on unix that is set to unlimited ).
Is this some limit within db2 or something else needs to be checked or changed? so,we can use this space...
    Thanks!

There is no limit on the backup size ....

What Operating System and what version are you on ? does the OS support enabling large files ????

I'd suggest you to speak to your system admin about this issue

Some filesystems do not support files larger than 2GB; others no larger than 4GB.

One might argue that this shouldn't be so bad; that maybe it's best to use more files, and smaller ones.
