    Question Unanswered: Querie confusion

    Hi,

I am constructing a Querie to combine the results of 3 different queries (one per school term).

I have linked the ID field so that it all synchs, so far so good.

From each of the source queries I have a numeric result or N/A (depending on whether that term has had an assessment done or not).

I have used the N/A to filter out the Non numeric values, which works fine.
Now when I add the numeric values together I should get:

    (QuerieResult1+QuerieResult2+QuerieResult3)=Numeri calValueResult
    What I get is:
    (QuerieResult1+QuerieResult2+QuerieResult3)="Queri eResult1"+"QuerieResult2"+"QuerieResult3"
    eg.
    1+2+4=124 and not 7

    This is some test code.
Test: ([AutAssAdd] + [SprAssAdd] + [SummAssAdd])
Tried with and without brackets, same result.

Is there a way of doing this or do I have to combine the three queries and change all of my variables, not a desirable course of action.

    Thanks,

Since you're able to populate a field with "N/A" that indicates that you are using text fields to handle numeric operations.
Try wrapping your field names with the val() function, e.g. val(QuerieResult1)+val(QuerieResult2)+(QuerieResul t3).

    Thanks,

I took the long option for now but it will be useful in future.
