    Unanswered: How to change NOARCHIVELOG 2 ARCHIVELOGMODE

    Dear All,

    I've a Oracle 9i Ver. 9.2.0.1.0 and running on AIX 5L Ver. 5.2 .
    I will change NOARCHIVELOG MODE to ARCHIVELOGMODE.

    Anybody can tell me a procedure to change mode database ?

    Is it posible to save the archivelog into /archive directory ?

    Thank's for advance.

    Regards,
    chalie

    Add (or uncomment) the following in your init.ora file:

    log_archive_start = true
    log_archive_dest = /[archive directory's path]
    log_archive_format = "T%TS%S.ARC"

    Stop & start your Db so the new settings take effect, as follows:

    startup mount
    alter database archivelog;
    alter database open;

    Confirm it's running in archivelog mode by typing:

    archive log list;

    HTH
