    Unanswered: How to make buffer pools to be used

    Hello all!

    I noticed that my database uses only one default bp even I created three of them. I have only one TS for user data (userspace) and snapshot for tablespaces shows that only one BP is in use.

    I don't know why is that. They have the same page size an TS, and this is the command I issued to create them:
    create bufferpool bp1 immediate size 20000 pagesize 4k

    Is there anything I can do to make them usefull?
    (DB2 v8.1.6, AIX 5.2)

    Thank you in advance
    NNicole

    Each tablespace can be associated with only one bufferpool .... So, if you have one TS then only one bufferpool will be used ...

    You can associate a tabelspace with a bufferpool either when creating the tablespace or by altering the tablespace ...

    Tablespaces are associated to bufferpools. To make a bufferpool active you must submit a statement like: ALTER TABLESPACE USERSPACE1 BUFFERPOOL BP1;
