    Exclamation Unanswered: renaming ASE servers

    Hi all

I've configured ASE 12.5 server with ABC on WIN NT,
after that I've changed to XYZ, and I've changed the names in "ini" file, "RUN_ABC" bat file. After doing this, I restarted the server, the server is started.

But the problem is I'm not able to start the server from service control. Every time I've to start from command line by running "RUN_XYZ" bat file or sqlsrvr.exe file. Even I've updated the windows registry also.

this is the error I'm geting when I try to start the server from service control.

Could not start SYbase_SQL_server_ABC service on Local computer .

Error 1067:The process is terminated unexpectedly.

    Question

    Do you get any errors?
I tried it once too, but it didn't work either.

Maybe there are some more places you should replace the servernames...

If you are referring to not able to start server from Sybase Central.
Then try deleting that entire server entity (from S. Central) and add a new one. There is also a text config file somewhere in the S. Central program folder, which defines data sources for S. Central, it's very similar to interfaces file. Try editing that too.

    Re:renaming ASE server

Did you try to change entry in registry.(HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet01/Services/SYBASE_SERVER)
Give correct path for ImagePath entry.
