    Unanswered: Select Top 1

    Hello,

    I have a table(tmpTable) with 100 records and 1 field(BNUM)....simple enough.

    I am using the 'SELECT TOP 1' to pull 1 record.

    how can I assign this value into a string variable so I can write an If statement?

    for example:

    If (SELECT TOP 1) = " & strName & "

    Then...

    Otherwise you have to create a dataset. Query strings themselves hold no data.
    oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
