I installed Database 10g on Redhat 9 following the instructions found at http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle10g.shtml and everything went fine, but now I am having trouble getting the Developer Suite installed. Here's the log file:

    So what is your question?
If you want to get Oracle installed, then install the required software packages.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.

Read the install instructions that came with developer very carefully. It calls for some support libraries to be loaded before you install it.

Where can I find these packages? They are not on the Linux installation discs.

I couldn't find any information about any support libraries.

Since it appears that you have as little knowledge of *nix as you do of Oracle,
I suggest that the learning cliff in front of you is higher than your ability to scale it any time in the near future. You should consider an alternative field of study.

They come with the Linux kernel. You will have to install the developer libraries, which will include gcc and the others. It has been a while since I did the install, but you want to pretty much install everything on linux except the source and the games.

Good luck with you efforts WRT to Linux & Oracle, since it appears that you'll need it.

This combination of s/w is a bit more difficult to master than Windoze & ACCESS!
