Unanswered: Pivot Table - adding columns

I am working with a Pivot Table that has only one column field in the COLUMN section and several other values for the ROW fields. The column field is a field named "STATUS" - which has 3 possible values: "-", "PUR", "NIMO".
    (See attached)

I can easily get the count of all the items in the row, but what I want is the count of just the items that are status "-" and "PUR". At the same time I want to get the count of the items that are status "PUR" and "NIMO".

Is that possible? I have tried using "Create Calculated Totals..." and "Create Calculated Detail Field..." but keep getting errors. I am new at this so any help is appreciated.
