Unanswered: Using a combo box as a perimeter query

My database uses a switchboard as the main form. I have a paramater query where a user has to enter a name of a department as the parameter. What i need is for the user to select the list of values from the combo box in my switchboard which will be used as the parameter for the query.

What is the code i have to write for the combo box and any other properities i have to change for the query. Do i need a button beside the combobox for the user to press after selecting the value from the combo box?

    Please help. Its very urgent.

Afterupdate Event of the combobox fires after user selection. so you can add your code in this event and refresh the form. also your parameter query should use the combobox as parameter.

Is this just a vanilla query? You can reference the combo box using forms!yourForm!yourComboBox in the query.

Also, you spelled "parameter" three different ways, wasn't sure if you noticed..
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.
