Exclamation Unanswered: Oracle 9i with Toad --> Timestamp problem

    Hi!

I have an Oracle 9i Database and i use Toad to connect it.
Everything works except one thing --> tables with timestamps and interval fields. I always get the message 'Data type is not supported.'

Has anybody an idea about this subject?

    Regards
    Stefan

And your TOAD version? Does it support timestamp datatype?

Not a bad idea to give Quest Support a call in this case - everyone here can speculate, but they know their product the best.

I have a feeling we hit this when we went to 9i. The problem for us was compounded by the fact that the corporate desktop standard build gave us an 8.0.4 client, and SQL*Plus encountered the same problems when dealing with timestamps, intervals, object types, WITH clauses etc. I'm not sure what version of TOAD you need as we went over to PL/SQL Developer (which handles 9i types nicely) and I installed the 10g client.

    Solved that thing

Thanks for all your help m8's, but now it works.
I had to disable the "USE LAST ORACLE HOME" option from the connection option in TOAD. Don't ask me why but it works and everything else too
