    Unanswered: Access 97 change autoincrement

    It seems as if Access 97 doesn't support this statement:
    ALTER TABLE tblCat ALTER COLUMN CategoryID COUNTER (10,4);

    Is there ANY other way of doing this? I found this link to changing the autoincrement...but its a workaround and quite ugly:
    http://www.mvps.org/access/tables/tbl0005.htm

    Please let me know.

    thx

    Well, I used that link to change the autonumber and it does the trick. So all is well. Wish I had the option of using a more powerful database....

    thx

    I know, I'm just supporting an old system which our company purchased from a vendor who loves the access DB's. Its great fun to debug...
