    Unanswered: New to SQL Server

After working as Sybase DBA for 8 yrs. I got a chance to work as a DBA for SQL Servers. Would appreciate if you could pls. provide me an overview of maintenance jobs done, like dbcc, backups, update statistics, etc. A reference to commands will be helpful. I am working on SQL Server 2000.

    Thanks

Too bad you have such a narrowly defined scope

First, I would get a book

    http://www.sqlteam.com/store.asp

    Then there's

    http://www.sqlteam.com/item.asp?ItemID=11672

And Tara's not to be out done
