    Unanswered: Auditing certain users

    Hi all,
    I have the requirement to audit certain users DML activity on our database. I have set up auditing by the following command:
    AUDIT insert table, delete table, update table by u1, u2, u3;

    But when I query dba_audit_trail, I only see the following:
    USERNAME ACTION_NAME
    ------------------------------ ------------------------
    u1 SESSION REC
    u1 SESSION REC
    u1 SESSION REC
    u1 SESSION REC

    I am just wondering if I turned it on right, or do i need to alter the auditing and set
    AUDIT insert any table, delete any table, update any table by u1, u2, u3;

    Also what does the code "SESSION REC" mean?
    Any help is much appreciated

    Can u plz verify if the Audit_trail is set to TRUE in init.ora [or] init*.ora.

    And check the audit table.I am not sure , but this may be the reason.

    Yest audit_trail was set to true. The problem was that by default, the auditing was turned on in a "by session" way, expalining the data. I changed that and turned ont he auditing "by access" and now everything is fine. Thanks
