    Unanswered: db link reference

    I just imported some database links where the database link names were defined with '.world' and they could be referenced in pl/sql code without the '.world'. However in the new database the pl/sql code complains about he db links. What do I need to update in the new database so that a db link named 'dblink.world' can be referenced as just 'dblink' in pl/sql code?

    Thanks in advance

    define new database ...

    did you get rolled out a new client version and tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora file where your colleagues changes ".world" to nothing ???

    check $ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/{sqlnet.ora,tnsnames.ora}

    db link

    The new database was built before we added the default '.world' entries to sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora. Later we add the default domain to sqlnet.ora, but apparently the database did not pick the change up. So we think there is some info that Oracle stores when the database is created concerning the default domain.

    new datebase = new 9i install on the server
