    Unanswered: relaxed LRU policy

Im trying to understand how the relaxed LRU policy in ase works. The manuals say that the relaxed LRU policy use the wash area as the strict policy but it is not maintained on an MRU/LRU basis. The relaxed policy is suppose to reduce cache overhead. I cant find any more detailed information about this.

Can someone explain how the wash area is maintained and how the cache overhead is reduced.

    relaxed LRU

think I have figured it out myself, the relaxed LRU seems to be a LRU approximation known as the clock policy in academics.
