Unanswered: MS Access-Help after upsizing to SQL Server 2000
I upsized my Access back end database to SQL server 2000 and most functions appear to be working. The only problem I am having is adding records to linked tables.
I have 2 linked tables; tblCust and tblCont. In Access the Cust_ID is automatically assigned and that same number is duplicated for the child records. But in SQL I get an error stating that "The MS Jet database engine cannot find a record in the child table with a matching key value." I believe the problem is that in SQL the Auto numbers are not assigned until after the parent record is saved there for it want create a matching child record.
