    Unanswered: HELP a beginner!!

    Hi!! I have two fields (fname, lname) in a table
    And I want to add a 3rd field that is fname + lname.
    How do I go abt doing that?? Or can I even do that in Access??

    you should create a query to do that. and you need a calculated field in the query.

    in query designer switch to SQL view and paste this SQL code in it. ofcourse change yourtablename paramter to your table name.

    Code:
    SELECT [fname], [lname], [fname]+[lname] as FullName from YourTableHere
    ghozy.

    That worked Thanks.. So now I use that "query" as my table then?

    yes you can use this query almost anywhere that you can use a table.
