    Question Unanswered: ORA-01461 - Windows Server 2003

    Good day.

I try to insert series of records into a oracle table using INSERT statement. I tried it on Windows 2000 (Professional and Server edition) machine and everything went fine. But when I tried with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise edition, it return ORA-01461 error.

I browsed through internet for more info about the error but it seems like it's sometihng related to LOB thingy but the table din have any LOB column. Besides, why it can be run on Win2000 but not on Win2003 ?

    Thanks.

    This is the error desc:
ORA-01461 can bind a LONG value only for insert into a LONG column

Cause: An attempt was made to insert a value from a LONG datatype into another datatype. This is not allowed.

Action: Do not try to insert LONG datatypes into other types of columns.
Please, post your table definition and the sql statement (insert...).
    Regards,

    Good day.

It works fine on another Win2003 server, which had Oracle FULL database installed. The other server has Oracle Client installed only. So I suppose it might be the cause of the exception ?

    Thanks.
