    you can uncompress and restore.
    To uncompress, use command --
    uncompress <file_name>

Kumar, in db2 v8 we can restore compressed backup image without using Uncompress command and I am looking for that command.

    Thanks

If I remember right, db2 system knows about the library to use when you compress on backup; you should be able to restore using the regular command(NO uncompress); when db2 tries to restore, it should know if backup was compressed and if so, it should use the same library to uncompress.

db2 "BACKUP DATABASE sample to '/backup' compress "
    db2 "BACKUP DATABASE sample to '/backup' "
    ls -ltr /backup
    12603392 Sep 29 15:55 SAMPLE.0.db2inst1.NODE000.CATN0000.20040929155503. 001

    29380608 Sep 29 15:56 SAMPLE.0.db2inst1.NODE0000.CATN0000.20040929155612 .001

as you can see in the size compressed is about 40% of non compressed; filenames are similar; you can use the usual
    db2 "restore db sample from '/backup' "
look in command reference for details
